Avomoxy 250-DT, Amoxicillin is an antibiotic is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication is a penicillin-type antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

It is effective for the treatment of patients suffering from bacterial infections, such as chest infections (including pneumonia), dental abscesses (A dental abscess is a collection of pus that can form inside the teeth) and urinary tract infections (UTIs). It's used in children, often to treat ear infections and chest infections. Other usages are - it is used for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., pharyngitis, tonsillitis), skin and skin structure infections (e.g., cellulitis), lower respiratory tract infections (LRTIs), including community-acquired pneumonia (CAP).

A history of hypersensitivity to any penicillin is a contraindication. Infectious mononucleosis patients develop a rash, and therefore use is avoided. Renal and hepatic function should be monitored.
