AVOMOXY CV Dry Syrup (with water)

AVOMOXY-CV Dry syrup is an antibiotic syrup especially prepared for the pediatric therapy. The combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid is effective for the treatment of patients suffering from bacterial infections of the ears, lungs, sinus, skin, and urinary tract for a short term. Amoxicillin is in a class of medications called penicillin-like antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Amoxicillin alone is indicated to treat susceptible bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, genitourinary tract, skin, skin structure, and lower respiratory tract. Amoxicillin is given with clavulanic acid to treat acute bacterial sinusitis, community acquired pneumonia, lower respiratory tract infections, acute bacterial media, skin and skin structure infections, and urinary tract infections.

Amoxicillin is a penicillin and should not be used in patients with a penicillin hypersensitivity.Patients with allergies or atopic conditions including asthma, eczema, hives (urticaria), or hay fever may have a greater risk for hypersensitivity reactions to penicillins.Amoxicillin; clavulanic acid extended-release tablets are contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min), renal failure, and in hemodialysis (dialysis) patients. amoxicillin; clavulanic acid should not be used in patients with mononucleosis as a high incidence of skin rashes have been reported with amoxicillin in these patients.Amoxicillin; clavulanic acid is contraindicated for use in any patient with a previous history of drug-induced cholestasis, jaundice, or other hepatic dysfunction induced by this combination of drugs.
